Abstract

In the midst of intense competition, academic stress, and mental anxiety and physical imbalance in modern higher education, Yoga has emerged as an invaluable and scientific tool. The combination of Yoga and higher education not only provides students with degrees and professional skills, but also an all-round combination of physical health, mental peace, emotional stability, moral values and spiritual development. From the ancient Gurukul tradition to the modern National Education Policy 2020, the inclusion of Yoga in the curriculum increases the concentration, memory, stress management and creativity of students. Through asanas, pranayama and meditation, the body becomes healthy, the mind becomes calm and the personality becomes balanced. This combination helps students not only have successful careers, but also become happy, cultured and socially-loving citizens. Ultimately, according to “Sharirmadyam khalu dharma sadhanam”, a healthy body and mind are the basis of true development. By adopting yoga as a core component of higher education, the next generation will be able to lead more empowered, balanced and meaningful lives.
